Bobby Deol talks on playing villainous characters

Talking about playing villainous characters, Bobby Deol said, “Well, I haven’t done too many antagonist roles in my career. What happens is that when people see this other side of us when we act. We perform a different role or character they get intrigued and enjoy it. No one would have thought of me playing an antagonist, you know when I got my role in Aashram. Also what happens in our industry is once they like you as a certain personality on screen, they tend to start offering you those kinds of roles. Something as an actor you find it to be difficult to break away from.”

He added, “But, I don’t really go out there and choose every role or character offered to me as an antagonist. It has to have some kind of substance, some kind of depth into it. So that when you are performing it, playing those characters should be made even better. It helps you if it’s written in the right way. I am enjoying this phase, I am enjoying playing antagonists. As they say, people, you see like the bad boy. So it kind of worked for me, but I am sure I have just begun my journey here. There are a few offers. I have done a few projects in the recent past. I have some projects in hand that I am really looking forward to. And, I cannot disclose anything right now, but there are some of the best directors.”
